5 Years of Influence and Inspiration: The Bullitt Center Turns 5
The Bullitt Center celebrates the 5th anniversary of its opening this month. In the last five years the building, dubbed the “world’s greenest building”, has held countless tours and educated and inspired more than 25,000 visitors. Among these are Washington Governor Jay Inslee, Senator Maria Cantwell, Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz under the Obama administration, and many more.
Home to PAE’s Seattle office and the firm’s first certified Living Building, the Bullitt Center holds a special place in our hearts and is still influencing virtually all of PAE’s high performing buildings, like the Net Positive Energy Rocky Mountain Institute Innovation Center in Colorado and the new Kendeda Building at Georgia Tech, to name a few.
The Bullitt Center’s impact goes far beyond PAE’s projects, it is used as a case study in many architectural and engineering schools throughout the country including at Stanford University, the University of Oregon, and the University of Washington; and was one of only 12 buildings selected for a new book on Net Zero Energy case studies from around the world that was published last year.
