MEP 2040 Climate Action Plan: Challenge and Commitment

PAE releases full MEP 2040 Climate Action Plan to pursue net zero carbon

PAE is committed to reducing carbon emissions from building systems. Buildings contribute nearly 40% of human-made greenhouse gas emissions, making our role crucial in creating a sustainable future.

We proudly present our MEP 2040 Climate Action Plan, aligning our work with the MEP 2040 Challenge issued by the Carbon Leadership Forum in 2021. This challenge calls for MEP engineers to pursue net zero carbon in their projects: addressing operational carbon by 2030 and embodied carbon by 2040.

By uniting in a worldwide collective of MEP engineers, we aim to radically reduce the total carbon emissions stemming from building systems.

Our commitments include:
• Reducing operational and embodied carbon in MEP systems.
• Requesting low-GWP refrigerants and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
• Participating in MEP 2040 forums and discussions.

PAE, an early signatory of the challenge, continues to lead in net zero emissions by guiding clients towards sustainable solutions and inspiring them to achieve these goals. By 2030, we aim to record building efficiency and produce carbon impact reports for all projects.
