Celebrating a Living Hero: Marc Brune
We’re honored that Marc Brune, PAE Senior Principal, has been named a Living Hero for 2025. Marc joins our President Emeritus Paul Schwer, who received the same honor in 2022—making PAE one of the few firms with two Living Heroes.

Marc’s impact on regenerative design is unmatched. As the lead engineer for three of the four largest Living Buildings in the world—representing 30% of the total square footage of fully certified Living Buildings globally—Marc’s work has transformed expectations of what’s possible.

At PAE, Marc was instrumental in shaping our firm’s commitment to “a world with clean air, energy, and water for all.” Through his leadership, he has supported PAE in turning vision into action at every layer of our design and consulting work—helping shape a more regenerative future.
