The Curran Theatre opened its doors in 1922, and has been integral to the local community ever since. With only modest upgrades since it opened, the theatre was in need of significant modernization. PAE provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for upgrades to existing systems, as well as fire protection evaluation. The renovation included new accessible restrooms and an elevator, repurposing of the existing mezzanine, and remodeling of the principal mezzanine level foyer.
Special Features
The design features energy efficient HVAC and lighting systems, and lighting controls that include LED technology, daylight harvesting, and automatic shut off controls.
In utilizing as much of the existing pathways, duct work, and plenum spaces as possible, PAE helped to preserve the historic nature of the building.
