A new four-story limestone and glass building, the Sobrato Campus provides places where undergraduate and graduate STEM students can experiment, collaborate, and learn. With state of the art laboratory facilities for studies such as virtual reality, natural science, energy, and robotics systems, the building brings together thirteen departments into one of the largest STEM facilities in the nation.
Special Features
Collaborative spaces are deliberately located at key intersections on each floor with direct access to vertical circulation, daylight, and views.
The building offers over 1,440 classroom, teaching lab, and research lab seats.
Planned to achieve 38% energy use against the ASHRAE standard, and have an EUI of 79, much lower than typical laboratories.
Laboratory variable volume HVAC system that uses heat recovery and heating and cooling at the zone, which completely eliminates reheat energy.
