Respecting the seventh Unitarian Universalist Principal, this home for the Unitarian Universalists of Central Oregon strives to respect the interdependent web of all existence of which the community is apart. It connects its occupants to nature with windows that take advantage of natural light and views, outdoor terraces, private nature trails, meditation areas, picnic tables and access to public biking and hiking trails. The building houses a sanctuary, gathering hall, classroom wing, office wing, kitchen, and multipurpose spaces.

Radiant floor heating with heat recovery to minimize energy usage
South-facing roof overhang to reduce overheating in summer while allowing beneficial heat gain in the winter
Operable windows to provide increased ventilation and occupant comfort while reducing mechanical cooling
Clerestories provide daylighting and views throughout the building
The roof area is reserved for a future photovoltaic array, and its electrical infrastructure is net zero ready
